Not everyone who needs public assistants is lazy. So here is my letter to those in charge of the Section 8 voucher program….
Hello,
I have been on your section 8 voucher list since 2006. I am very frustrated because I have applied for section 8 when I was in high school and now I have graduated from college and still have not moved up the list nor heard from anyone. I update my information just about every year. What do I need to do to be able to receive section 8 so I can find a place for my daughter and I?
I still live with my parents but like most, once I graduated from college they are expecting me to move out. So my time for me and my child is limited. I graduated in March of this year and cannot find a career in my field in all of (blank). So now I work one full time job and two from time to time jobs but this will not cover for me to rent, keep up payments on my car and to start paying back my student loans. Oh yes lets not forget expenses for my daughter. I also plan to go back and start my masters so that it may help with my career of choice. So Basically I really need help.
I’m frustrated because I work for a property management company and I see people everyday who have section 8, who openly admit they never plan to do anything with their lives and stay on welfare and it took them absolutely no time to get on section 8. Yet here I am almost 7 years waiting patiently to gain more independence with the help of section 8. No offense but I do not want to be on section 8 forever. I just need a boost until I can get on my feet financially. Is it not meant for a person like me to receive it? Or do I have to cheat the system like most do to finally get some help? Someone please let me know what I need to do to speed this drastically long process up.
